ABOUT YOUR ROLE

You will join the Responsible Investment group within our Chief Investment Officer’s office and contribute to the firm’s governance and data management framework.

As a Senior Analyst, Responsible Investment, Data & Insight, you will:

  • Actively participate in identifying key ESG metrics, reviewing ESG data sources and other services on the firm’s data platform, evaluating external data providers, and generating reports to support sustainability decision-making.

  • Be responsible for coordinating the data gathering processes for all data necessary to the Responsible Investment team to perform its objectives, including both public and private markets.

  • Participate – and sometimes lead – in the development of new tools and ESG analysis framework (including enhancement of existing ones).

  • Act as an expert on ESG data tools, framework and services data tools, framework, and services within the Responsible Investment group

  • Contribute to the ESG data governance and monitoring framework available at the corporate data platform, including data quality, consistency, and comparability across asset classes

  • Liaise with various internal groups to advance projects related to tools, corporate data services and ESG framework.

  • Aptitude for processing large amounts of data and providing detailed analysis with great accuracy using the most appropriate approaches and tools for validation

  • A rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation

  • Strong desire for working in a highly collaborative team environment and building strong relationships both internally and externally  

  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and business needs

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time, with a high level of autonomy

  • Ability to manage complex issues and provide data-driven insights that are relevant towards the accomplishment of key deliverables

  • Strong capacity and willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies and tools and provide guidance to team members

  • A continuous improvement mindset, strong desire to innovate and find efficiency in various internal processes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance or sustainability related discipline with outstanding credentials which may include a complementary graduate degree (MBA, MSc, MA) in a relevant field,

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in managing data and/or developing analytical tools,

  • Some level of experience or educational credentials with focus on ESG and sustainability, which should include an understanding of how ESG metrics are calculated, how underlying data is gathered, and which data points are most relevant in various contexts,

  • Some level of experience working with ESG databases and/or data providers such as (MSCI, Sustainalytics, Trucost, TrueValue Lab, FactSet)

  • Understanding of ESG reporting standards (SASB, TCFD) gained in an audit or reporting capacity, or experience in conducting ESG analysis using relevant data and frameworks would be beneficial

  • Good understanding of statistics and analytical methods, including linear regression, and forecasting techniques. Understanding of common machine learning, artificial intelligence and related data science methodologies

  • High-level proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint, some level of experience in computer programming would be beneficial

  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
