What It’s About


Blue Earth Capital is seeking to hire a London or New York based investment professional to join the Private Equity Direct Investments team specifically for the Climate Growth Fund (“CGF”). The CGF seeks to provide growth equity capital and business build expertise to companies supporting the net zero transition, resource efficiency, and resilience to climate change.

Responsibilities


The Vice President will work directly with senior investment members of the Climate Growth Fund and will have the following responsibilities

  • Contribute to all aspects of an investment including origination, execution, structuring, negotiation, and ongoing management
  • Lead thematic research within key climate investment verticals
  • Develop and review valuation models, lead the preparation of investment memoranda for Investment Committee meetings
  • Lead due diligence workstream on prospective investments (e.g. commercial, climate impact, ESG, financial, tax, legal due diligence, etc.)
  • Contribute to the negotiation and drafting of legal transaction documentation (e.g. SPA, SHA, MIP, etc.)
  • Support portfolio companies throughout our investment period (including the planning, execution and monitoring of value creation initiatives)
  • Conduct various other tasks related to product reporting, market research, internal requests and marketing efforts with current and potential investors
  • Contribute to LP investor related activities (e.g. pitches, update meetings, etc.)

What We Expect


We are looking for a professional with the ability and willingness to excel within a highly entrepreneurial organization. The successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • 5+ years of direct private equity investment experience (buy-side)
  • Growth equity and/or climate sector investment expertise strongly desired
  • Demonstrable interest for growth and/or climate impact investing
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent analytical, inter-personal, and written communication skills
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English is required. Ability to understand an additional European language preferred but not essential
  • Excellent academic credentials with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
