The Opportunity

The Director, Investments is responsible for investment due diligence as well as investment selection for global and domestic investments across all asset classes and impact themes, with an emphasis on climate and social justice. The Director also manages team members, directing work flow and providing professional development support.

The position is full time and reports to the Managing Director of Investments. Our team offers a flexible work environment, operating primarily in a US-basedremote environment, but coming together periodically throughout the year for in person meetings and offsites so periodic travel is required. This is also a US-based position and candidates must live in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of investment and impact strategies for ImpactAssets Capital Partners’ clients with a specific focus on climate and social justice;
  • Analyze investments across impact themes, asset classes, sectors, geographies, and structures to assess suitability for ImpactAssets Capital Partner’s clients including the ImpactAssets’ platform, ImpactAssets’ internally managed vehicles or other ImpactAssets Capital Partners client portfolios;
  • Lead investment due diligence and prepare investment memoranda and convey theses to relevant internal stakeholders;
  • Review closing documents and assist with investment execution;
  • Lead ongoing quarterly and annual monitoring processes for investment coverage;
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for Client Investment Committee meetings;
  • Prepare content for on-going impact and financial reporting including portfolio details, social and environmental indicators, investment details and impact metrics;
  • Present results of investment due diligence in client meetings;
  • Manage team members and foster a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees accountable to commitments, deadlines, company policies, procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ directly relevant experience in impact investing, management consulting, private equity, private debt and/or investment banking
  • Background in assessing climate and/or climate justice investments; experience assessing real assets and project finance preferred
  • MBA or similar advanced degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of and passion for using investing as a means by which to engender social and environmental impact
  • Outstanding, demonstrated analytical, research and due diligence skills
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, experience using think-cell preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to do what it takes in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools Box and Asana preferred
  • Experience working in a virtual working environment preferred

  • Base salary ranges from $150,000 – $225,000 and is highly dependent on experience and location
