Investment Analyst or Investment Associate, Sustainable Infrastructure

Website Gresham House

Asset Manager

The British Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) Strategy targets investments in real asset-based solutions intended to directly address key environmental and societal challenges. The Strategy, one of Gresham House’s flagship products, commenced in 2019 and has grown significantly since then. At the end of 2023, the Strategy comprises 12 high grade institutional investors and several high-net-worth investors, 12 platform investments and over £740mn of assets under management. The BSIF Strategy is now fundraising for its third vintage of fund, the British Strategic Infrastructure Fund III (BSIF III), in 2024 to enable the Strategy to deploy its £2bn+ pipeline of investments.

Role objective

Gresham House is growing its assets under management and the Sustainable Infrastructure (SI) investment team is looking to add a new Investment Analyst or Investment Associate to the London team to help grow the BSIF platform. The SI team are currently investing from their successor British Strategic Infrastructure Fund II (BSIF II) and five co-invest vehicles, with plans to launch BSIF III and other co-invest vehicles imminently, to capture on the success to date, and further develop the franchise.

Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure strategy aims to deliver superior financial returns alongside positive impact, both social and environmental, through investments into real assets which help deliver innovative solutions to live in a more sustainable way. We focus on regional UK investments at the lower mid end of the market (sub-£50m equity cheques initially) – areas often overlooked by investors, where we can build up platforms and deploy significant capital (£100m+) over time. The strategy is evolving to look at more international investments, with a focus in North America, Canada and Europe.

The SI team operates with a highly meritocratic structure which allows all team members to gain significant deal exposure and the opportunity to grow your role at the pace you’re able. The role will be focused on making new investments and managing existing portfolio companies. BSIF is seeking to become the leader in Sustainable Infrastructure investing. Implementation of best practices in asset stewardship and sustainability reporting will be a key part of the role.
