Generation’s Growth Equity strategy is investing out of its fourth fund (“SSF IV” with $1.7 billion of committed capital). We are a team of 18 investment professionals united by the goal to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy. We invest globally in growth-stage, private companies with proven technology and commercial traction across the three pillars of planetary health, people health and financial inclusion.
We back mission-driven management teams driving System Positive solutions across a variety of global sectors. Indicative investments include Asana, Benevity, Convoy, Gusto, o9 Solutions, Remitly, Toast, and Vestiaire Collective (Growth Equity @ Generation).
We are looking to hire a key investment professional to join our global Growth Equity strategy in San Francisco. The role will encompass all aspects of the investment process – from thesis-generation, to origination, to diligence, to company support, to exit. As one of the most senior members of the Investment Team based in San Francisco, the role will also involve management responsibilities to support a cohesive and high-performing cross-border investment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a growing global Growth Equity strategy, with a unique opportunity to help further build and cement the team presence in San Francisco.
The role is a full-time, permanent position; key responsibilities will include:
• Transaction processing: leading all aspects of the investment process including origination, due diligence, negotiation, execution, portfolio management and exit
• Research development: deliver unique insight into growth trends across key sectors driving sustainable solutions
• Network development: Building out Generation’s network
• Team development: supporting the growth of Generation’s San Francisco team

• Significant demonstrable experience within Growth Equity and/or Venture Capital, with multiple completed investments (approx. 4-8 years of transaction experience)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrable experience of coaching and training team members
• Strong communicator, with an ability to connect, negotiate, and partner with key stakeholders
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with a desire to build a world-class Growth Equity business
• A passion and demonstrable interest for sustainability, either from your professional and/or personal
experience and a desire to further the pioneering work of Generation as a dedicated sustainable investor
