Purpose of your role


You will work with the Director, Sustainable Investing Solutions on developing and driving our sustainability-related client engagement strategy alongside our distribution and investment stakeholders. This includes supporting our distribution and investment colleagues with client-related activities (including FUSION), RFPs, strategic client program, client servicing, reporting and ad hoc client queries across all regions globally. You will also contribute to marketing, corporate communications, and editorial content strategies. Whilst the primary focus is ISS this may extend to WPFH where required. In addition, you will work proactively with distribution teams globally to understand the assessment frameworks & KPIs used by key clients, consultants, fund researchers, and industry standard setters to drive the assessment & rating of Fidelity’s sustainability credentials and capabilities. The role requires close cooperation and collaboration with many teams across ISS including sales, client servicing & reporting, RFPs, investment directing, client operations, the distribution CAOs, as well as marketing, corporate communications and editorial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a thorough understanding of Fidelity’s overall strategies and objectives and manage relationships with internal stakeholders on all aspects of FIL’s sustainability-related client engagement approach
  • Manage the ESG client queries mailbox (for escalations)
  • Respond to client queries & RFPs or coordinate responses from across the SI team where specialist input is needed in an accurate and timely manner to meet client deadlines
  • Proactively contribute to the ongoing improvement of RFP content and client query responses to ensure high quality and that it accurately represents new developments
  • Produce sustainability related reports and other materials for client consumption as required by client-facing teams
  • Ensure RFP and client servicing teams have access to up to date SI related content
  • Curate the SI document repository and ensure information and documents are up to date
  • Prepare written material as required for public consumption by editorial and communications teams
  • Support marketing, corporate communications and editorial’s sustainability content distribution strategy
  • Maintain thorough understanding of current sustainability themes and trends
  • Stay abreast of evolving client demands and expectations as regards sustainable investing
  • Identify and manage sustainability standard setter ratings processes, together with local teams (e.g. RIAA)
  • Support the provision of effective sustainability training to client-facing teams, client services & RFP teams
  • Proactively organise workload to meet client and internal deadlines
  • Oversee the allocation, production and review of client reports and report timetables
  • Actively seek opportunities to automate and streamline work, as well as contributing to the enhancement of the overall client experience
  • Participate in firm wide sustainability initiatives including any potential sustainability product offerings as required
  • Develop mutually productive relationships with individuals from various parts of the Fidelity complex, including investment management teams, legal and compliance, product development, investment directors, institutional, sales & marketing and operations
  • Think strategically to develop best-in-class solutions, facilitate and streamline the team’s processes and propose solutions to enhance impact and efficiency
  • Contribute where required to the essential workflow of the team to ensure that all key deliverables are met in a timely and efficient manner

Experience And Qualifications Required

  • Experience working in a client facing or servicing function in the asset management industry
  • Experience engaging with clients, consultants and fund researchers on sustainability-related topics an advantage
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Self-motivated, a proactive approach with an analytical, enquiring mind and willingness to learn
  • Ability to form relationships, be credible with and influence at all levels of the organisation and across functional domains
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong sense of ownership with ability to work on challenging issues and overcome constraints & obstacles
