Credit ESG Analyst – Canada

A bit about the job:
This is a great role for someone who is passionate about ESG investing and would like to play a key role in supporting a leading ESG asset manager in the delivery of its global ESG strategy within North America. This is a fantastic opportunity to actively participate within a high performing investment team, delivering both investment and sustainable outcomes for our clients. The role is within the global ESG Team, with a focus on delivering high quality ESG research and impactful engagement for North America based issuers and themes. The role is based in Toronto and will involve working closely with portfolio managers and credit analysts based in Chicago and Toronto, including Investment Grade and High Yield strategies. As the primary ESG Analyst in North America, you will have the responsibility to champion the ESG capabilities of our firm and strategies within the local market, supporting our investment teams in any client-related activities and building and maintaining relationships with local market ESG initiatives and stakeholders. As part of the global ESG strategy you will also have responsibility for supporting the implementation of firm level ESG integration frameworks, the delivery of global research and engagement programmes, and supporting global reporting requirements.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience in engaging individually and collaboratively with issuers on ESG issues to deliver investment insight and meaningful impact.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of North American ESG trends, including key stakeholders, investment themes, and ESG policy and regulation.
- Great all-round communicator, able to embed themselves in a team-based culture, demonstrate collaborative behaviours and drive decision making and outcomes.
