We are looking for a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our Global ESG team in New York. Our Research Associates play an important role in producing the research we are known for: thematic, industrial strength, collaborative, data-driven, bottom up, and always differentiated. You will also develop relationships across the investing community and over time become a thought partner to our clients. Our culture is both cerebral and highly collaborative, and you will have a high degree of independence and autonomy while also working very closely with your team. This is an exciting role on the global ESG team conducting in-depth primary research on key ESG themes and trends, analyzing the impact of sustainable finance regulations around the globe, and providing thought leadership on winning ESG strategies and best practices.
As a Research Associate, you will:
- Become an expert in ESG working with a Senior Analyst who is an expert
- Grow highly proficient at conducting primary analysis of ESG themes, risks, and opportunities across sectors and geographies
- Develop strong relationships across the investing community by daily interactions with our sales and trading teams and institutional clients
- Author highly differentiated written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and quantitative frameworks, including our signature Blackbook product
- Become adept at analyzing and quantifying material ESG issues
- Interact with key ESG experts and industry contacts

Our Research Associates typically have track records of outstanding academic performance in rigorous fields of study. This is a role that could be suitable for a recent undergraduate or someone with experience and an advanced degree. What is important is that you have excelled and thrived in a research-driven academic environment. We look carefully at your background (including grades, tests, and fields of study) for evidence of the following:
- Excellent broad-based analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong quantitative backgrounds and ability to work with data sets
- Relentless intellectual curiosity
In addition, the following are helpful:
- Finance degrees and coursework
- Credentials such as CFA
- ESG credentials such as the FSA and the ESG CFA
