AIG’s Office of Sustainability collaborates on AIG’s commitment to sustainability and core business strategy: community resilience, financial security, sustainable operations, and sustainable investing. The team supports the firm with compliance and regulatory services, with integrity and objectivity to achieve AIG’s business goals.
About the role
AIG’s summer interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. You will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge during the 10-week program. As a summer intern you will work side-by-side with industry leaders on dynamic projects, with ample opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement.
After initial orientation and training, summer interns will join one of our business lines, which offer a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse and global environment. In addition to the experience acquired on the job, summer interns have the opportunity to hear directly from senior management, and participate in webinars, discussion forums and networking receptions.
Upon finishing the internship, you may be considered for a full-time analyst role beginning summer of 2024.
What we’re looking for:
AIG seeks candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.
We also look for a diverse background of experience, culture and thought. Successful candidates typically have a global perspective and a team-oriented track record.
Typical responsibilities of a Strategy and ESG summer intern may include:
- Provide support and assistance to the Sustainability team with:
- Research on the intersection of economics and ESG
- ESG research projects that involve the collection, scrubbing, and analysis of data
- Research on energy transition finance, economic data analysis, capital markets data analysis
- Creation of power points and research summaries
- Other duties as assigned
Required:
• Minimum 3.2 grade point average (unofficial transcript required upon application
• Candidate for bachelor’s degree in Economics, Sustainability, Business, Political Science, Environmental Engineering, Climate Science, Physical Sciences, or relevant field to be received no later than May 2024
• Ability to work 40 hours per week
• Demonstrated interest in market trends, economics & the environment
